The First Secret to Success: Trust Yourself
What do you consider success?
For some, its money, power, and fame. For others, it’s achieving great heights in business and their profession. And then there are those who define success by the constant pursuit of their life’s passions and how inch closer to achieving their wildest dreams.
No matter how you define success, there are six secrets to help you achieve them. Don’t believe me? Consider this:
One day, after working for a prominent law firm for eight years, I walked out of my managing partner’s office having submitted my resignation. I knew my life’s purpose was elsewhere, but had no idea where to begin. I just knew it wasn’t where I was. I walked back to my office, sat down at my desk, and felt lost. It was as if I was at the beginning of some great journey but didn’t know how to take the first step.
And then, with no where else to turn, I logged on to facebook. I scrolled aimlessly through my newsfeed and stumbled on six secrets of success that inspired to pursue my own passions and dreams in life. this was the first rule:
The first rule is trust yourself.
What is most important is that you have to dig deep down and ask yourselves “who do you want to be?”
Not what, but who.
And I am talking about not what your parents and teachers want you to be – but you.
I am talking about figuring out for yourselves what makes you happy. no matter how crazy it may sound to other people.
So, rule number one is to trust yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Take a moment to think about who you really want to be deep down inside. And then, reflect on whether you’re living your life in a manner that truly makes you happy. In my next blog, I’ll share the second secret of success.
